How to know if a TikTok will flop before you post.

You cannot know how many views a TikTok will get until it is live. Clout still estimates a range from the overall score (for example 10K-50K). Treat that number as a guess. What you can act on before you post: a hook that does not land in the first two seconds, a slow stretch people skip, audio that does not match the cuts, and no reason to stay. Watch the first three seconds on mute. Note the moment you would scroll. Fix that. Clout scores hook, body, retention, pacing, visuals, audio, and trends, then tells you what to change.

Clout analysis with an overall score and a seven-category breakdown

What usually makes a video flop

A view estimate is a guess. The ways videos die are not. Most flops happen in the same four places: the opening, the first cut after the opening, a quiet stretch in the middle, and an ending with nothing to do.

If you only have time for one check, do the mute test. Play the first three seconds with sound off. If the text and first shot do not make a promise, people already left.

  • Hook: the first 1-2 seconds do not state a problem, a payoff, or a surprise
  • Pacing: a shot lasts too long, or two similar shots sit next to each other
  • Retention: a lull around 8-12 seconds with nothing new
  • Audio: voice, music, and cuts are fighting each other

A 60-second check before you post

Watch the draft once like a stranger. Fix the first thing that made you restless.

  • Watch 0:00-0:03 on mute. Would you stay?
  • Write the promise in one line. If you cannot, the hook is still a greeting.
  • Note the first timestamp you would skip. Cut there, or rewrite that line.
  • Check the last three seconds. Is there a reason to comment, save, or follow?

What Clout adds

Upload from your camera roll. You get seven scores (hook, body, retention, pacing, visuals, audio, trends), an estimated view and like range, timestamps where people would skip, and what to fix first.

The range is mapped from the overall score. It can miss, the same way any forecast can. Use the scores and timestamps as the thing to edit. After you post, TikTok Analytics is the real graph.
